Glenn Jacobs, Knox County’s incumbent mayor, is running for re-election in the upcoming 2022 midterm elections. The seven-foot mayor, otherwise known as Kane, made a grand appearance at WWE’s “biggest party of the summer”.

He showed up to announce the attendance of this year’s Summerslam, held at the Nissan Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. 48,449 members of the WWE Universe filled the seats. The record attendance at the Nissan Arena is 69,489 seats.

He then performed his signature gesture of throwing his arms up and down, synchronously lined up with fire erupting from the four corners of the ring. While an odd move for a politician, Jacobs had been making fire rise since his start in 1997.

While the Nissan Arena is not in Knox County, the arena likely had plenty of its constituents in attendance. The event was also streamed to a large audience on Peacock, where it is now held for viewing on demand.
